Stones River Hospital Recognizes National Nurses Week

May 02, 2008

WOODBURY – Stones River Hospital is celebrating National Nurse’s Week from May 6 through May 12. Our theme this year is “Making a Difference Every Day.”

There are 2.9 million registered nurses in America, and 100 of the best are right here at Stones River Hospital. They save lives and help maintain the health of their friends, families and neighbors every day.

Annually, National Nurses Week begins on May 6, marked as RN Recognition Day, and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession.

Traditionally, National Nurses Week is devoted to highlighting the diverse ways in which registered nurses, the largest health care profession, are working to improve health care. From bedside nursing in hospitals and long-term care facilities to the halls of research institutions, state legislatures, and Congress, the depth and breadth of the nursing profession is meeting the expanding health care needs of American society. Stones River Hospital celebrates our nurses and thanks them for their commitment to our community.
