Cannon County High School Students Volunteer Their Time and Talent at Stones River Hospital

Jul 07, 2008

Members of the Art Club of the Cannon County High School recently completed a mural on the walls of the outside courtyard at Stones River Hospital. The mural is a landscape depicting the view of the Stones River from Doolittle Road. Gwen Copeland, the Art Teacher of the High School stated, “These students really enjoy public service. They wanted to do something special for the patients and visitors of the hospital”. Students who came and painted were Garrett Christensen, Kate Darbyshire, Trey Stinnett, and Melody Vaughan.
Brian Woods, Director of the Volunteer Department at Stones River Hospital said, “It says a lot about these young people that they wanted to do something to give back to their community. The mural is in the courtyard off the surgical hallway. We are sure it will be enjoyed by patients, visitors, and staff”.
If there are others in our community who feel as though they have the time, talent, or the compassion to want to volunteer at the hospital they are encouraged to call Brian Woods at 563-4001.
