The Riverside Center

Peace of Mind
No one ever said that growing older would be easy. In fact, sometimes as older adults we face numerous challenges and difficult changes as part of the aging process. All too often, we face repeated losses in our later years.

  • Our loved ones
  • Our own health
  • Our independence
  • Our memory and concentration

It is a combination of these losses that can understandably prove to be overwhelming at times. Fortunately is at these times that we are not alone. Riverside Center at Stones River Hospital is here to offer specialized support and peace of mind when you and your family need it most.

Fostering Hope
Depression and Anxiety Disorders
Riverside Center has developed a special program designed for seniors suffering from depression and/or anxiety. These conditions are silent epidemics in our country today, and some studies suggest that at least one in five seniors is currently battling clinical depression.

Depression is not a sign of weakness. Families often feel frustrated because nothing they do seems to help. Professional treatment is often times necessary, and the good news is that treatment for depression is highly effective.

Professional and comprehensive treatment and care is available at Riverside Center. With treatment, our staff can ease the pain of depression, relieve the symptoms, promote independence, and help make life worth living again.

Preserving Dignity
Memory Disorders
Riverside Center has developed a special program to treat individuals suffering from problems with memory. Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia’s occur in a greater number of people as more individuals live to see an older age. While there is no cure for dementia, there are medications that can slow the progressive decline. At Riverside Center the doctors and staff of professionals use medications and behavioral modification techniques to minimize behaviors that cause risks to the patient or the caregivers.

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for persons with memory disorders. We provide close supervision over all patients, with a secure unit that ensures the safety and security of each individual. We strive to bring peace of mind to the family, and work closely with the families of our patients to deliver hope, education, resources, and comprehensive medical care.
